KSP Fundraiser Is Cancelled

The high gas prices and high winds forced Kentucky State Police to postpone a charity fundraiser.

More than 400 motorcycle riders were expected to participate in a 100 mile ride yesterday in the Big Sandy region to benefit Trooper Island, but organizers at post nine postponed it when gas prices shot up to four dollars, and they felt the strong winds were too dangerous for the motorcyclists.

“Safety reasons, and basically, hoping gas prices will go down to be easier on the pocketbook for our riders,” Mike Goble said.

The ride is re-scheduled for Sunday, September 28th.
