Former Special Deputy Is Found Competent To Stand Trial

A former Harlan County Special Deputy charged with murder is found competent to stand trial.

Scott Moore is charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Leslie Cox.

Police say Moore's gun went off during a struggle last year at Highsplint Lake hitting Cox in the head.

Police say Moore was trying to break up a crowd at the time of the shooting.

His pretrial hearing is set for October 3rd.

I only have one Question about this whole thing,If this man was only trying to break up a crowd of young people,Then why did he not call for help from the KSP,Or the Harlan county sheriff dept.?
