Ed. Commissioner Suffers From Viral Illness

Kentucky's Education Commissioner is at home recovering from a virus. The virus affected Jon Draud's central nervous system.

Doctors diagnosed Draud with the rare condition after he fell at home and had difficulty walking.

The condition is treatable, but Draud will have to undergo physical therapy.

Draud is working from home while he recovers and has designated Deputy Commissioner Elaine Farris to act in his absence if needed.

There's no word on how long his recovery may last.

What is the virus called? I am recovering from Guillain Barre Syndrome and was curious if he is suffering from the same.
