Thousands of gallons of water from Highbridge Springs are now headed to Houston, Texas to help those hit by Hurricane Ike.

The Highbridge Springs Water Company, located in Jessamine County, says it got the call for help Saturday. By Monday, trucks started to mobilize.

The company donated a total of 10,000 gallons of drinking water, with half of it going to Houston and the other half heading to Louisville.

Wind storms hit Louisville over the weekend as the remnants of Hurricane Ike passed through.

High Bridge Springs is a truly American company. What is the Kentucky-American Water Company, or whatever this British and German company is called doing for Houston residents?
