Police Make Arrest After Home Invasion

Police have made one arrest after an early morning home invasion at the Coolivan Apartments off Sixth Street in Lexington.

Police have charged 31-year-old Lashonda Martin with 1st degree robbery.

Officers say they are still searching for three other suspects who knocked down a door at the apartment building and held a mother and two small children at gunpoint inside.

Officers say while the victims were being held, Martin and the three other suspects searched the apartment.

Before bursting into the home, police say the four suspects broke into the victim's car, sifted through her belongings, and left them scattered through the parking lot.

Police say the victim in the home invasion recognized Martin and told neighbors she was a suspect.

Police say friends of the victim went to Parkway Apartments on Rogers Road to confront Martin. After an argument there, police arrived and took Martin in for Questioning.

They also arrested the victim's friends on unrelated warrants.

Police say no shots were fired and nobody was hurt.
