Numbers Down At Keeneland Sale

The Keeneland horse sales end Tuesday, and there's ground to be made up if they live up to last year's numbers.

The average price of a yearling is down almost 11 percent, while overall sales of horses is off nearly $55,000,000, or almost 15 percent.

The number of horses sold to date is also down this year compared to 2007.

The average price of a horse so far this sale is $100,240. Last year, the average price was $112,540. That a difference of nearly 11 percent.
