Pennies To Get New Look

We're used to seeing Kentucky native and former US President Abraham Lincoln on our pennies, but now they will have a new look.

The U.S. Mint unveiled the new designs Monday. They're part of the next year's commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.

Lincoln's profile will remain on one side of the coin, but the Lincoln Memorial will be replaced on the other side by new images with a different one being introduced every three months.

The first new penny is scheduled to go into circulation February 12th, Lincoln’s birthday.

I like the idea, but didn't they just plan to spend like $700 Billion to bail out a bunch of guys that mismanaged peoples money? So, what should we do next? How about making a few billion extra pennies? How about doing away with the penny all together. NOTHING takes pennies anymore. You can't buy something out of a vending machine and put pennies in it. why not just round everything off to the nearest nickel?
