Illegal Immigrant Driving In Deadly Crash

He wasn't supposed to be driving, but police say he did anyway while drunk. On top of that, investigators say 24-year old Gustavo Guzman-Pineda, who caused the crash is an illegal immigrant. Pineda was pronounced dead on the scene. Court records state in 2006, Pineda was arrested for not having a license or insurance. He pled guilty and was fined nearly seven hundred dollars. He never paid the fine and a warrant was out for his arrest.

72-year old Tom Murphy, who crashed into Pineda's speeding car says the accident should have never happened because Pineda should not have been driving.

Fayette Commonwealth Attorney Ray Larson says "it's outrageous." Larson has the numbers to back it up. In the last 20 days in Fayette county, 125 arrests of illegal immigrants have been made. 60 of those for not having a drivers license. Larson says a better job needs to be done in identifying and keeping track of these illegal immigrants.

In most cases, when arrested for not having a license, a person is fined and released. Larson says all people need to be more afraid of the consequences of driving without a license.

Lexington's officals have for a long time, refused to admit that we have a drug, gang, and illegal allien problem. Thanks to a few citizens who have been vocal about it , we now have a vast majority who want them GONE. We, as tax paying citizens, are tired of giving out tax money to illegal alliens in Lexington. We are tired of our police force being unable to uphold the laws because Bastin, and above him , Newberry has said not to bother the Mexicans. TIME FOR A CHANGE !!

Jim??? what planet are you on? Lexington is a sanctuary city.. Dont ask-- Lexington officers can not ask if you have a green card/visa or here legally.

We need to round up all illegals and ship them home.

This will continue as long as Senate candidate Kathy Stine, Judge Ernesto Scorsone, Mayor Newberry, Police Chief Bastian, and the Urban County Council fail to work with 287(g) and ICE, and continue to promote the Commonwealth and Fayette County as sanctuaries. Twelve U. S. citizens are murdered every day by illegal aliens. Another 13 citizens are killed each day by drunk driving illegals. Ray Larson has it right. It's time to do something about these serious crimes. Aren't each of you sworn to protect & serve taxpaying citizens ? It is time to do it. What part of illegal do you "leaders" not understand?

This is one of many reasons we are so adamant about the illegal immigrants. Also, gangs is another major concern. Why can't something be done?????

Another reason to crack down illegals. Fayette County is too soft. SHOULD NOT be a sanctuary City.

Until we elect some different officials, this is what we will have.

I am not surprised this has not happen more often. I feel sorry for Mr. Murphy. Who is going to pay his bills? And fix his car? Good Job KYT for finally reporting that this guy was illegal. Wake up Mexington, I mean Lexington, this is the tip of the iceburg.
