State Vehicles Get 'How's My Driving?' Stickers

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Gov. Steve Beshear's administration is putting "How's my driving?" bumper stickers on state-owned vehicles with a telephone number to lodge complaints.

Finance Secretary Jonathan Miller said state vehicles have been involved in more than 1,100 accidents since last year. He said state employees driving the vehicles caused 70 percent of those accidents, resulting in nearly $1 million in damage claims.

Miller said it's time to hold state drivers accountable. The bumper stickers include the phone number to the Kentucky Division of Fleet Management: 502-564-2727.

The state also has added GPS systems to state vehicles to monitor their locations and speeds.

Hopefully it WILL include KSP and DVE. If so, it will surely be a "hotline" because they drive like there are no speed limits.

I don't even have a car now that can keep up with those pigs. Not to mention time to get a number to call in (like that is going to help). I travel I-75 daily and it is a rat race just to keep up in the right lane. Yesterday two state workers were sitting on the tailgate of a state truck so how are we to see the bumper sticker with feet dangling?

    Q. What has four wheels yellow symbols and sleeps four? A. A state highway truck! Q. Who drives by you at 80 or 90 miles per hour and gives you a ticket for doing 65? A. Do I really have to tell you!

Great idea if the reports called in are legitimate. But in our community, false reports will be made for the fun of it which will hurt innocent people.

I am so glad!!!! There are a lot of state vehicles around here. I don't know how many times a state vehicle has pulled out in front of me or bowed up in front of me and turned with no signal.. I just wish FedEx would do the same to their vehicles. They drive like they are going to put out a fire!!!!

Will they be on State Trooper's cars? They are the worst offenders. They pass everything on the road and disobey speed limits as a matter of course!!
