A woman is dead after a crash on a dangerous road in Leslie County. Officials say slick conditions and possibly speed played a role in the crash.

Constable Sam Caldwell says he's seen several deadly crashes on Middle Fork Road.

Investigators say Jamie Wagers, 32, of Manchester lost control on a curve around 2:00 P.M. Tuesday. Her rental car skidded off of the road, went down an embankment and hit a tree before coming to a rest on Asher's Camp Road. Officials say slick conditions are to blame.
"They're have been several people killed on this road because of the way they drive and the road conditions," said Caldwell.

The Leslie County Sheriff's Department says Wagers was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the car. She died at the scene.

Two passengers, Tara Collins and Brenda Wagers, were not injured.
