GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) - Georgetown police say they haven't seen anything like it before.

A car dealership reported thieves stole every tire, from six of their most expensive vehicles. It happened late Tuesday night at Frank Shoop Chevrolet-Buick in Georgetown.

"My service manager called me early this morning...so I knew it wasn't going to be good," Langdon Shoop told WKYT.

Shoop says he came to work Wednesday morning to find a half-a-dozen of his Chevy Suburbans and Tahoes up on cinder blocks with all of the high-end tires gone.

"Not a great way to start the day."

According to police the value of the tires stolen tops $30,000, or more than $1,000 a tire.

"Somebody knew exactly what they were doing," said Captain Robert Swanigan.

Captain Swanigan said some contractors doing a remodeling project at the car dealership said they saw a man unloading cinder blocks in the next-door parking lot to a hotel they were staying in around 10:30 Tuesday night.

"They didn't think anything of it at first," Swanigan said. "But clearly this was our guy."

Right now police are looking for just one man who was driving a white Chevy Tahoe towing a flat bed trailer. "We don't have any evidence more people were involved, even though it would appear that way," said Swanigan.

"We are just asking the public now to help us out," he continued. "There is a market for these high-end tires, too. The suspect will likely go to the internet to sell them."
