Forest Fire Season Officially Starts

Wednesday marked the official start of forest fire season.

Even though it's been slow so far, officials say they don't expect it to stay that way.

Firefighters in Jackson County quickly put out a small fire Wednesday morning, and state forestry officials say they expect to have a very busy weekend.

On Wednesday, three more counties have added themselves to the growing list of counties which have banned burning.

Harrison, Breckenridge, and Warren counties issued burn bans, bringing the total number of counties to 47.
