A national organization is recommending waste from a central Kentucky chemical weapons facility be disposed of in a different location.

A report released by a committee from the National Research Council on Tuesday says offsite disposal for weapons stored at the Bluegrass Army Depot would have a number of benefits.

Construction is already underway for the on-site facility at the depot. Officials at the plant have until 2017 to destroy the weapons stored there.
