Massage Owner Arrested

The owner of a Lexington massage business is under investigation and accused of inappropriately touching a female client.

Michael Rice owns the Massage Oasis on Custer Drive.
He was arrested Friday at work and charged with third-degree sex abuse.

Investigators say they have evidence that backs up the woman's complaint.

Police tell us they are now checking to see if Rice has done this to other women.

As a female therapist I have been on the other side of the situation feeling as though a male client expected sexual contact. Massage therapy has progressed greatly nationwide in recent years to be more accepted in the medical community and public eye. It is disheartening to see one of my colleagues damage our reputation. The massage room is supposed to be a safe and healing space, not a place of fear and betrayal.

If this is the same man who was there many years ago then he does give a heck of a massage. The other is added bonus, even though it wasn't right.

Kate, I dont think Bill is necesarily saying she asked for it but women above all have to be extra careful now a days. Im sorry but I would never let my fiance' go to a male for a massage because one you do not know the guy at all and two there are some perverted masseurs and you never know when you will come into contact with one.

Massage is mean to be theraputic and healing, not sexual. Creeps like this massage therapist, and the people below who view it as sexual give all massage therapists a bad name. Grow up! Do you think a woman deserves to be violated when she goes to her gynocologist? Same concept, this is mean to the healing and not erotic.

Tommy, you are sick to think that sexual abuse is something that is wanted or enjoyable. Think about what you type from now on.. people don't ASK for 3rd degree sexual abuse or any sexual abuse for that matter.. grow up!
