The State Fire Marshal's office is now investigating three small fires Monday at Eastern Kentucky University.

Two of the fires were at Dupree Hall. A third was put out around eight Monday night at the Powell Student Center Building. Investigators believe all three were connected and intentionally set.

No one was hurt and there was little damage to the dorm. Students were evacuated during the fires.

My wife works there at the Powell Building (Fountain Food Court). I don't understand why a fire-bug would want to do this. I also don't understand why the fire alarm system didn't go off. Were the lines for it cut. That could have been dangerous to my wife and her fellow co-workers. They were not evacuated. You would think that would be automatic. My wife Bonnie thought that it might be related to a pro-gay rally slated for Thursday (I think that that's the right day). Is there anymore information on this. This could affect everyone's safety if this isn't quickly resolved. God Bless You. Be Safe. Richie Heinlein
