A barn has burned to the ground at a well-known Lexington horse farm.

The fire at Lane's End Farm's Oak Tree Division broke out at around 4:00. That is in Fayette County, near the Scott County line.

The barn is a complete loss, most of it burned to the ground. Only the concrete foundation remains.

The good news is that there were no horses were inside.

Farm officials say an employee living in a farm house noticed the flames and called 911.

The cinder block barn didn't have much equipment in it, so the loss to the farm is minimal.

There's still no word on what may have sparked the fire.
