Recent Rains Help Fight Kentucky Forest Fires

We're learning now how the rain we got earlier this week is helping in the battle against forest fires in the state.

Kentucky’s Forestry Division says the rain gave them an edge against the fire.

The Red River Gorge fire has been contained within the fire lines they established.

Part of the gorge is still closed.

Over 300 acres have burned so far.

New fire crews from Arkansas and Oklahoma arrived Thursday in order to relieve the ones that had been here.
