Man Bit By Neighbor's Dog

He claims he was just walking home from work when he took a short cut, only to encounter a vicious dog.

James Chandler of Lexington says a neighbor's pit bull is normally chained up in a backyard but from time to time it roams free.

This time, he says it attacked him on North Upper Street. It happened Friday morning.

Chandler says the dog tugged on his pant leg then bit him near the ankle. He screamed for help and a neighbor called police.

The dog was taken by the Humane Society and the dog's owner will be cited with harboring a vicious dog.

Did "the victim" take a short cut through the dog's yard? News report doesn't say. I have 2 dogs that will bite and only if someone comes in my yard! And I would rather shoot the intruder than have "something" happen to my dogs that are just trying to protect their owner & their owner's property!
