Crash Victims Identified

Three people are dead after a head-on crash in southern Kentucky.

The crash happened on US 127, just south of Albany in Clinton County.

Investigators say the driver of one car lost control, crossed the center line and hit another car.

Only the driver of the car that was hit survived. Brenda Logan was flown to the University of Kentucky hospital. She is now listed in critical condition.

Police say the victims are Candi Byers, 29, her three-year-old child, Kasen, and the passenger in the other car, Belinda Logan, 48.

All are from the Clinton County area.

Police say none of the victims was wearing a seat belt. Police also say the child wasn't in a safety seat.

First of all it is not a myth! Seat belts do save lives. I don't buy it's Gods will mentality that many people seem to throw out at times like these. Can I say for certain any of the victims would have survived if they had seat belts on? No I can't but I can say that honest statistics show that there chances would have been better had they been wearing seat belts. That is just the plane facts. Now I am one who does not support forcing anyone to do anything, including wearing seat belts. Why? Because I find that you can not regulate common sense. People will make any excuse for not wearing seat belts. I am afraid of being caught in the fire. Well I can tell you this, most crashes don't result in a fire. Those that do happen so quick you have no time to think any how. Being thrown from a vehicle is a death sentence in many cases. So should this woman be battered by the fact that seat belts were not in use? No! She will spend the rest of her life suffering for her choices.

I know these people personally and this is a very bad tragedy for our small town! Maybe she had him in a carseat an dhe got out. Maybe that is why she wrecked. Small children do get out of their carseats if there is any way possible! Noone was in that car and we do not know what happened!

THIS IS SUCH A TRAGIDY AND JUST AS BAD TO BATTER THIS YOUNG LADY FOR NOT HAVING THE CHILD IN A RESTRAINED SEAT OR HER OWN SEAT BELT ON FOR THAT MATTER. WOULD HER OR HER CHILD BEEN ABLE TO SURVIVE THIS HORRIFIC OF AN ACCIDENT IN EITHER CASE.SOME THINGS ARE JUST MEANT TO BE, PRAY FOR THE LOVED ONES HERE TO GRIEF. AND TRY TO PICK UP THE PIECES OF THEIR LIFE.
