Not Guilty Plea From Grandmother

A grandmother accused of leaving a two-year-old inside a hot car to die says she is not guilty.

Linda Long appeared before a judge Friday morning in Laurel County.

She is charged with reckless homicide charges in the death of Madison Nose.

Police say she left her grandson in a vehicle for hours while she worked at a London hospital. At the end of her shift, Long found the child dead inside the hot car.

Members of Long's family were in court Friday morning to support her.

Long will be back in court again next week. Her case is expected to be heard by the grand jury in November.

I am not going to argue with any comment..I just want to say, I am a grandmother of a beautiful, precious two year old boy..There is NO WAY that I would ever, ever forget my grandson.. Granted my life is very hectic but, I just can't understand the thought process behind this. The torture that baby went through...sickens me. She is guilty, she left him in the hot car whether intentional or not... Her punishement(I can only wish for) should be that she sees that little baby boy's face every second of the day...SHE IS GUILTY..

Have you heartless, judmental people no heart at all? Have you stopped to think ONE TIME how this poor grandmother must feel? You have no idea what she is going through. All you are concerned with is killing her with the death penalty. She is probably in torment.

HOW COULD U PLEAD NOT GUILTY, HOW???????? THIS IS NOT CIRCUMSTANTAL. I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN AND I COULD NOT HAVE PLEAD NOT GUILTY. SHOULD THIS HAVE BEEN A DOG WHAT WOULD THE MEDIA AND LEGAL SYSTEM HYPE BE? SHE AND OTHER CHILD MURDERS SHOULD BE GIVEN THE SAME SENTENCE AS THE INNOCENT CHILD ON CNN, THERE WOULD BE A LOT LESS PLEADING CRAZY AND DRUGGIES. IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH COGNITION NOT TO DO SOMETHING TO YOURSELF YOU SURE HAVE ENOUGH COGNITION NOT TO DO TO OTHERS. GOD HAVE MERCY ON YOU LINDA

I can not believe you that have claimed the title misinformed. What is to be misinformed about? The facts are very present, not misinformed, factual, our legal system has nothing to do about misinformed, I believe that is not a feasible word to use. This is murder any way you want to look at it pre-mediated or by how I can not understand an accident. How can a person be mentally or physicaly able to take care of others in the professional medical field as R.N. and do something as unbelievable (not misinformed) as this and keep her license as nurse. Would you want some in her mental condition to care for you or your loved ones? I do consider a person of the lack of responsibility as Linda Long to be, and to have been in a bad mental condition , as a Registered Nurse for many years, I know this person needs to have her license terminiated, and should have had a drug screen immideately.Legal issues that you speak of are ignorant at this time to speak about.

This is a rebutle to to "Are you Kidding?"...you need to read a few law books and figure out our legal system. You can't plead something because you are a grieving grandmother. She had to plead "not guilty". Also, I guess you haven't even considered how this lady feels. Yes, she did do something that resulted in something horrible happening but until you have walked in her shoes, you should be so quick to judge. All of these people that cause accidents and something tragic happens cannot be punished by the death penalty. You might feel differently if someone in your family was directly involved. Examine our legal system and get your facts straight.

@AreYouKidding! She is not claiming that her grandson is not dead because of her. She is pleading not guilty to reckless homocide (which she probably is innocent, read the law). Should she serve time, IMO yes but for the right charges. If she ends up not spending any time it's because the wrong charges were filed.

I wonder how the family in Berea are reacting to this. Had it not been for the 2 women that found that baby in the Wal-Mart parking lot, that baby could have died also. The sad thing is that GRANDMOTHER plea Not-Guilty also!

OMG!!!! Can you imagine what that poor child went through. There is absolutely no excuse for what she did. The law should put her in a car on one of the hottest days of the year for hours, and air it on TV for all the other stupid people in the world that leave their children in a car to see, then they will see what happens. Is it just me or have we ehard a lot of this happening this summer? Something needs to be done!!!!!! If they can't take care of them, give them to someone who can...... I don't know how the childs parents could ever forgive her, I'd want her to suffer the same way....
