FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - State Budget Director Mary Lassiter plans to retire after crunching numbers in Kentucky's Capitol for the past 24 years.
The 46-year-old is among a flood of state employees being lured into retirement by incentives aimed at trimming the state's payroll.
Gov. Steve Beshear said Lassiter "has been the epitome of what it means to be a public servant." He released a statement Thursday praising her dedication to the state and her knowledge of the job.
