Rabid Bat Found In Lexington

Another rabies case has been confirmed in Fayette County.

The Health Department says test results came back Thursday morning that show a bat found in a home in the Lane Allen Road area had the virus.

Warning signs were put up in that area on Thursday to warn people about the discovery of the rabid bat.

This is the third rabid bat reported in Lexington since July. One was found on Hampton Court, another near Woodland Park

Health Department officials are urging pet owners to make sure their pets have the proper vaccinations.
