UK Students Demand End To Racism

Students of all races marched through the streets of UK's campus Wednesday night demanding racial tolerance.

The group of students responded to what they say has been years of sweeping racial intolerance and hate crimes under the rug. The students cited the discovery of an effigy hanging in a tree as the latest infraction on racial goodwill.

The students say University officials need to take all incidents as warning signs of larger racial issues, and deal with problems campus wide.

95% of blacks voted for Obama - 43% of whites. Seems white people are fine with race and black people are going to support their race first. I want to start a National Association for the Advancement of White People. I also want to start WET - white entertainment television. Blacks and Lesbians have their own channel. Better yet - I want to start an all white college. Race relations in this country has been turned upside down. Granted, just a short time ago, it was plain wrong the way black people were treated. But 2 wrongs don't make a right and it is plain wrong the way the american white male is now being treated.

It is the media that keeps portraying him as the first black president, even tho he is biracial. Wasn't Obama born in Hawaii? That would make him a plain old American, wouldn't it? My ethnic background is Italian, and I was born in America. I don't go around calling myself an Italian American, and he is not an African American, he is an American.

I've said it before, racism WILL NEVER STOP UNTIL WE STOP GIVING SPECIAL TREATMENT TO SPECIFIC GROUPS OF PEOPLE! You cannot give special treatment to one race & expect the other races to "just be tolerate"! Affirmative action is a great example of special treatment. As far as history is concerned WHO CARES! I cannot help what happened 200 years ago or even yesterday for that matter. Get over it! The American Indians were mistreated, their land stolen & many murdered, but you don't hear them screaming racism do you? No, that's because they're still on reservations, just to preserve their culture. If ANYONE has a "right" to scream racism, it's the American Indian! Yet they are silent. Furthermore, I say if you don't like my AMERICAN culture, then go back to whatever land you came from, period! It's time Americans, stand up & perserve OUR culture instead of letting it be destroy by others. Tolerance just means giving up my culture to please someone else which I refuse to do!

This doesn't surprise me...these students are "on the bandwagon" like every other extreme liberal out there. King Obama is gonna cure the world. Good Luck with that! Maybe I'll check back in in four years, IF the US is still here and see how the fans still feel about him and his policies.

I am saddened to read the posts delivered by the people of this community. For the sake of educating even one of you, here are some answers to some questions raised: 1. Yes, all people can be racist or prejudiced in some fashion. It is a human nature but we must rise from that low state. The reason why there is no "White Student Union" on UK's campus is because until recent years, the entire campus was a "White Student Union". Organizations such as the NAACP and Black Student Union were created because minority students were not welcome to participate in the university's activities. They needed representation. They exist because of ignorant thoughts similar to the ones being posted on this site. 2. Black Panthers are not similar to the KKK. The BPP was created in the 1960's to protect their neighborhoods from the corrupt police. The KKK was a fraternity of frustrated former Confederate soldiers who terrorized black families. Please do not fall for the vile in these postings

Racism still exists and the incident on UK's campus was a PRIME EXAMPLE. It is not the black people's fault. I work in a business where plenty of black people have applied and the white boss says they are not qualified. Affrimative Action---is to protect the white woman. Read a book check it out at the library and read all about it. You will be surprised what you will learn. It is people like you all on this site that makes racism worse. I got news for you, this nation is becoming more diverse and until WHIte people change their nasty ways, it will always be racism AND ITS NO JOKE.
