Police Investigating Several Cases Of Car Vandalism

Police are investigating after several cars were vandalized Thursday night.

Police were called to the Ponderosa Trailer Park on the Fayette-Scott County line.

More than ten cars had their tires slashed. All of the cars were owned by Hispanics who live in the park.

Police are not saying much about their investigation, expect that the victims were targeted for a reason.

The Scott County Sheriff's Department is working with Fayette County authorities as well since the trailer park is located on the county line.

Employees at the trailer park say they think the crimes were random because they were spread throughout the neighborhood, which has about 500 mobile homes.

The neighborhood is now passing out letters in English and Spanish to residents, offering a 500 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest.

Police say if caught, the vandals will face criminal mischief charges.

O here we go playing the race card. Do I or my family members play the race card every time an UNINSURED ILLEGAL MEXICAN hits us while driving with NO LICENSE? Do we ALL pay more for our INSURANCE because of this? If I as a non protected class CITIZEN would be stopped and the officer determined that I had no LICENSE or no INSURANCE I would either be CITED or JAILED! Sorry but the RACE CRUTCH is broken, walk on YOUR OWN two feet.

If a group of Hispanics came into a white neighborhood and vandalized cars belonging to white people, it wouldn't be called a hate crime now would it. Quit the bellyaching...and just call it a crime. All crime is normally done under hateful circumstance. You never hear someone say "I liked that guy a lot so I slashed his tires."

This type of racist behavior is disgusting. I wonder if the culpret checked the victim's id's to ensure they are illegal? For those who don't like Hispanics, Latinos, etc., just remember your ancestors came here from another company at some time. These people are hardworking and family oriented which is more than I can say for a lot of white folks I know. Grow up people and learn some tolerance.

Sounds racial to me. A $500 reward? Is that the best you can do? Up it some, and they'll turn on one another. It should be more since it is obviously a hate crime.

What the heck is wrong with people? These guys are just trying to live their life... trying to make it in this world and then stupid racist people go and make their tires flat? What the hell?

Sounds like racial profiling to me but I sure hope not. Most of those Mexicans work hard and do the jobs that we won't do.
