Inafnt Killed In A House Fire

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. (AP) - An 8-month-old boy has been killed in a
house fire in Williamson, and a firefighter is receiving treatment
for an eye injury following the blaze.

Williamson Fire Chief Jerry Mounts said the call came in around
2:30 a.m. Friday. The house was on a hillside and difficult to
reach from the street, and it took firefighters nearly an hour to
bring the blaze under control.

Officials did not immediately identify the infant. His mother
and two other children are staying with family members.

Fire Lt. Joey Carey was being treated Friday for a laceration to
his cornea from a hot ember.

The state fire marshal has ruled out arson, but has not yet
found a cause.
