Mother Charged In DUI Accident That Sent Child To Hospital

A mother is in jail charged with drinking and driving, causing a crash that sent her young son to the hospital.

Police say the car swerved off Pebble Creek, near Belleau Wood and Wilson Downing, in Lexington early Monday morning.

The car then hit a light pole and overturned.

A five-year-old boy inside the car went to the hospital.

His mother, Heather Charles, 27, is charged with DUI and wanton endangerment.

Police say the child will be fine.

He was released into his father's custody.

Yes, he does love both of his parents. He has been raised by his mother to be an outstanding 5yr old. Mom doesn't bad mouth dad to him!! She never has and has always given more time than court permitted dad for the babys sake!! Dad is not the poster child for perfect parenting!! When he is with mom he gets his medicine, he brushes his teeth,he isnt around cig smoke to trigger his allergies, he doesn't eat junk food, and so on! Oh yea and when ordered to give him back, dad took him and hid from the law instead of turning him over!!! He walked away from his family!!

the father is def. not a jerk and the comments that are negative about the mother are only the start of how the woman is. ask the boy who he wants to be with... he comes over the the house all the time and plays with my kids and he'll let you know how much he loves his daddy

People have no clue of what it does to a child to be without their mother. Let these people with their negative comments loose their mother and see how they like being without their mother. I lost my mother and my father was a jerk. My mother made plenty of mistakes. But, I don't care what mistakes she made I still would love to have her in life. I hope none of you negative comment people have ever lost their mother. Because, if you had you wouldn't be making all these negative comments about this innocent boys mother.

Who ever left me a message stop being such a coward and show your name. I am sure you are the one that wrote family of boyfriend knowing good and well you aren't in our family.Everyone makes mistakes so maybe you should look a little deeper into the wreck. The boy was asleep!!!!! He is fine. Haven't you ever made a bad choice? Look around you! Stop making more of this than it is. You better be careful because what goes around comes around. So watch what you say. It will bite you in the ---!. As for nightmares. Yes, children can have nightmares. But, nightmares can come from people talking trash or putting stuff in their head about their parents too. As for Karma, at least you learned how to spell it this time.Eventually, peoples true colors always shows.. So stop stuttering around and stay out of our families business.

What are you talking about Karma. You obviously have no care for children. He needs to be with a biological parent or he will have serious problems.

This reply is to Tara. I know that you meant well with the words you wrote but I believe that being in a flipped car and having your mother arrested for a DUI would effect the child more than a custody battle. I mean this child could have nightmares for the rest of his life and may never feel safe with his mother again. That is a very traumatic situation.

I am a child of a alcoholic. I was removed from my fathers truck as he was arrested for DUI. I will never forget it. I was scared to death. However I still still love and need my dad in my life. A child doesn't see their parents faults. But, they only feel the pain when the father or the mother aren't in their life. ENTRY on December 2 has a typo im not an alcoholic my father is

I am the sister of the boyfriend. We have a very small family and I know that know one in my brothers family wrote about Karma for Heather or Prayers for Nathan. All I know is my brother is a good guy. He would never harm anyone not the mother, the father or the child. Our father raised my brother to be a good man and respect others and that is exactly what he does.Unfortunately, I care only for the feelings of my brother. He is like my son. I know that he is blaming himself for this mess. But, whatever, the comments you have negative or positive just remember the child in the prayers. Because my brother and I know from experience that a custody battle know matter what the cause will affect the child for the rest of his life.
