Mayor Resigns

An eastern Kentucky mayor resigned Monday night.

Pineville Mayor Bob Madon announced he's stepping down at a city council meeting.

The longtime Pineville Mayor is set to go to trial in January for federal vote buying charges.

His son Brent Madon pleaded guilty in the case last month.

The Pineville City Council picked Councilwoman Sherwin Rader as the new interim mayor.

She is expected to be sworn in Tuesday night.

Why would he have to quit, isn't buying votes how you get elected here.I know in Pike Co. thats how its done. But here, they don't use cash much anymore, just badges, and jobs. You know, a gun or a garbage truck.
