Police Investigating Shot Fired In NKU Dorm

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (AP) - Police are looking for the people involved in a gunshot that was fired from inside a Northern Kentucky University dormitory.

No injuries have been reported.

University spokesman Chris Cole says campus police received a 911 call about a suspected gunshot at Callahan Residence Hall just after 4 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Cole's statement, the shot was fired after a physical confrontation between a female student's former boyfriend and another male visitor. The female student and another male were also in the dorm room.

Police determined from security surveillance videos that all four left the building and there was no threat to other students.

Cole says students received an e-mail from the university about the shooting.
