Crash Kills Husband and Wife

A crash involving three cars leaves two people dead and a busy road shut down.

68-year-old Donald Morris and his wife, 62-year-old Jean Morris, were both killed in the crash.

It happened Thursday afternoon on Highway 519 in Morgan County, near the Rowan County line.

Investigators say a driver lost control and crossed into the path of an SUV, hitting it before crashing into another car.

The teen driver, 19-year-old Nakita Oakley, was flown to UK with several injuries. The driver of the SUV, Christina Flannery, was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The passenger, Tiffany Flannery, is said to be o.k.

Well, i buried my mother and step-father today. I don't know how to feel about you right now! I hope you wasn't on alcohol or drugs, and i have heard about your condition and we all feel bad about that. But I can't forgive you right now. Because you took something from me we will never get back. So, all I can say is I hope that every time you drive you will think about what you have done and the people you have hurt. From the family and your's.

In response to DC, being from Morgan county I have driven on that road many times. No matter how fast or slow you are driving it is very very dangerous to drive on when it is wet. You should be more considerate before making assumptions. My prayers are with the Oakley and Morris families.

We are failing to teach our teen and new drivers the true responsability of driving a vehicle. It's all fun and games. Now look what you've gone and done. You can kill someone just as dead with an SUV as you can a shotgun.
