Two Die In Crash

Two people are dead and a teenager is seriously injured after a crash involving three cars.

It happened Thursday afternoon on highway 519 near the Rowan County line.

Police say the weather may have played a role in the accident.

Police say an SUV was passing a car when another car driven by a teenager, traveling in the opposite direction, lost control in a curve.

We're told the teen's car went into the oncoming lane, and hit the SUV head on.

The teen was flown to the U.K. Medical Center with several injuries.

The driver of the SUV was taken to a local hospital.

Officials say a woman in one of the cars died at scene and her husband died being put into a rescue helicopter.

The road is now open again.

That curve is ALWAYS slippery because of all the rock dust that comes from the rock company! When it rains it is just terrible there! It's sad that people have to die because nothing is required as far as removing all the white dust off of the road!
