WKYT Crew In Wreck

One of our own news crews was involved in a wreck Saturday.

WKYT reporter Denny Trease was hurt in a wreck along U.S. 27 in Garrard County, near the Jessamine County line Saturday afternoon.

Trease, along with photographer Brandon Whitworth, were rear-ended by a driver while stopped on the roadway. Their car then spun into oncoming traffic where it was hit again by another car.

Trease had to be transported to the hospital, but he is now at home recovering. Whitworth was not injured.

So sorry to hear about Denny, certainly wish him a speedy recovery; we feel like he is part of us around here, remembering him from several years ago, when he worked at Newschanel 27.

God Bless, Denny. Hope you get well very soon! That stretch of US-27 is very dangerous, usually 3-4 wrecks a week. However, that stretch from KY-34 to the Camp Nelson Bridge is being re built. A new Us-27 should be done by late 2010 or ealt 2011. If you think it's bad now, you should have seen it 30 years ago!!!

Wishing Denny a quick recovery. I hate wet roads, most people don't drive with the caution needed. Rain is as hazardous as snow and ice.

Denny get well soon,,They need to do something about the roads we drive on at night when it is raining driving is just a guessing game and hope you don't get hit because you can not see the lines on the road there should be something that will light up or a paint to put do so you can see where you are going... Blacktop gets darker when it rains and the white lines get darker to
