The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named its picks for the safest vehicles
When it comes to front, side and rear-impact crashes, there were 72 winners for 2009. That's almost double from last year.
The biggest bragging rights go to Ford, and its Volvo division, with 16 winners.
Honda and its Acura subsidiary had 13.
The Insurance Institute says Chrysler is the only major automaker that didn't score a top pick, falling just short in rear-crash tests.
