Volunteers Hand Out Thanksgiving Meals

Preparations got underway early Thursday morning to make sure those in need this Thanksgiving will have a meal.

The staff of Sal's Chophouse on Tates Creek Road got an early start to cooking.

They'll feed more than 1,000 people Thursday.

Volunteers from Southland Christian Church will greet, cook and serve those in need.

Reservations have already been made for the dinner.

In Lexington, aside from Sal's, the Salvation Army will have its annual Thanksgiving meal from noon until 1:00 on West Main Street.

The Catholic Action Center will hold its meal from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the New Greater Soul Deliverance Tabernacle Church on North Broadway Luther King Boulevard across from Duncan Park.
