Party Under Investigation

Police are investigating a party that left three teens hospitalized in Laurel County.

The mother of one of the girls at the party is speaking out. She says adults gave her child and others alcohol on Friday night. She says the adults were simply watching the 13-year olds get drunk. She says she became concerned when she talked to her daughter and went to the home on Vanzant Road in the Lily community.

She says one of the girls was unresponsive and two others were in bad shape. All three went to the hospital.

State Police are investigating, but they say the parties involved are being uncooperative. At this time, they are not sure who gave the girls the alcohol. At this point, no one has been arrested.

Thirteen year old girls have no business at a "party" unless it is a slumber party supervised by responsible parents. Kids are let loose way too much these days and the parents act surprised when something like this happens. WAKE UP AND BE A PARENT TO YOUR CHILDREN!!! Get involved, know where they are going and who they are with, their lives may depend on it!

Yes, the adults should be held responsible but the kids should too. They knew what they were doing. Regardless of their upbringing most kids know that you shouldnt drink underage...what happened to just saying no?

I have also seen first hand parents letting teens drink (and buying alcohol for them)while the parents are at home. Two years ago, my 15 year old child went to a friends house on New Years Eve and was allowed to drink with about 10 other high school students. I knew the family and felt safe that my child was there and not at someones house I did not know. I find out one year later (from my child) that not only did the parents buy them alcohol but also a middle school teacher was present and also drinking with the kids. Yes I would have done something if I have known about it at the time but I did not. I have talk to the parents that had the party and they denied it but I have heard from several kids that have said the same thing. I do know my child has not been back and everyone else knows what this family done in our town.

The adults at the home are all responsible no matter who gave them the alcohol- all of the adults in the house knew they were under age- and let it happen - I say arrest all of the adults that were in the home!!!

ok so the adults at the party shouldnt have gave the teenagers alcohol BUT the question is would you rather these children, who are going to experiment with alcohol one way or the other, be out at an unsupervised party, get drunk and get in the car with someone who is drunk, try to drive and wreck and get killed or kill someone else? So while it may be wrong to buy alcohol for them, it is so bad to want to keep them under your supervision and safe? Also the news makes it sound so bad when they say "Unresponsive", thats what you call Passed Out. I dont know these people in anyway but that is just something for everyone to think about before they go passing judement.

The adults present should be held responsible. There is more to this than being said, the cops or social services should do their job and be held accountable. This is our underage children, thank god a mother was concerned enough to speak up. What would you do if this was your child?

I hope the children have learn something from this. But as for the adult that was at the home ,I think they should be in jail. Endangerment of minors, and whatever else they can get them on. and Also have social services involved in this case as well.. This needs some more attention than just them letting children getting drunk . What else do they do at that house ???
