Brooks: Cobb Doubtful For Bowl

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky freshman quarterback Randall Cobb
is doubtful to play in the Wildcats' bowl game after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee.

Coach Rich Brooks says the surgery performed Tuesday was a
success. However, he says he won't be able to practice for at least
two to three weeks.

Cobb was injured Saturday during Kentucky's loss to Tennessee. The speedster has started the last four games at quarterback. He has thrown for five touchdowns and rushed for seven more.

The injury means sophomore Mike Hartline will likely return to the No. 1 quarterback position for Kentucky's bowl game, which hasn't been set.

Stay home and don't go to a bowl and look foolish on national television. You guys are depleted as far as talent to win anymore games this season. Injuries made this season a total loss; no fault of the players BUT...it's pretty pathetic when a freshman is the guy that is carrying the team so to speak.

...then decline the invitation. No use in letting the program slip backward with a loss in a weak bowl. Also, doesn't help with recruiting.

After the lack of effort the past three game I don't plan to follow them to any bowl game anyway, much less without him. I do wish him a speedy recovery, too much was asked of him by the coaching staff this year, suprised it took so long to get hurt.
