Kentucky To Receive $475,000 in Toy Settlement

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Attorney General Jack Conway has announced
Kentucky is among 39 states that have settled a dispute with
toy-maker Mattel Inc.
Conway said Monday that Kentucky will receive $475,000 of a $12
million payment Mattel agreed to make after an investigation into
events that led to a voluntary recall last year of toys coated with
lead paint.
The payment is due by Jan. 30.

Why does teh state get a pay off. Isnt this the US were any one can sue anyone? Shouldnt the parents of the kids that had teh toys get the money? After all the government has already proved it does nothing more than raise their own salaries and spend more to justify gettin more 1ith every dollar they get. For example if you get $15 an hr for any job but are hired for a scale pay job which all government contracts are. They pay the $15 man $40 an hr for the same job they do every where else. Government spending makes as much sense as giving a 16yrold a credit card.

Why is the state of Kentucky getting this money? Shouldn't the children affected by the lead paint get the money? Is the state supposed to hand it out to who deserves it?
