Woman Accused Of Trying To Kill Grandfather With Antifreeze

Leonard Walls says when his grand daughter, Brittany Ann Miller stayed with him, she would often make him coffee.

“I noticed the coffee tasted different, but I didn't think of that,” said Walls.

He now believes Miller was trying to poison him and police say it was with antifreeze.

“Who would think of your grand daughter putting that in your coffee?” asked Walls.

Walls says his grand daughter was to inherit a trust fund upon his death.

“I loved her. Very much. Too much….. I still love her, but I wouldn't want her to stay with me,” he said.

The indictment states that the alleged poisonings happened in February 2008, but Walls didn't learn about it until he was a patient at Lexington's Veterans Administration Hospital.

“I got to feeling real weird, I called my neighbor to take me to the hospital, and you know, I don't think any other hospital would have looked for antifreeze. And that's what it was,” said Walls.

Miller is charged with criminal attempt to commit murder. Her bond was set at $10,000 cash.

“I just can't imagine anyone doing this to someone, especially their grandfather,” said Casey County Sheriff Jerry Coffman.

I know brittany! She spoke nothing but love for her grandfather! That's not like her at all. And shame on you people. Just because you THINK someone did it you start saying BS like "they should put her away for life" Brittany is one of my closer friends and one of the most caring and compassionate people i've had the honor of knowing. Shame on you people!

To jonathan-well,we all THOUGHT my family member was innocent at first, too. We completely stood behind this person. We believed them, trusted in them. Finally they broke, and told us the truth. You never can trust anyone 100%.I grew up with this person-all my life.Never again will I trust this person.Disapointment doesn't begin to start with how my family feels. You'll never know all the facts,Jonathan.Heck,it's been years,we STILL dont know and will never know all the facts. So sad.

I have a family member that did this very same thing to someone.AC,you're right...it does take a monster to do something like that.My family still has a hard time living down the stigma this person has put on us.How warped someone has to be to do something so disgusting!Something you wouldn't do to a dog!I hope this grandfather doesn't allow his love for this monster to get in the way of his thinking and allow her back into his life.Send her away for a long time, maybe to Pewee Valley.

My grandfather was the closeth thing to my daddy that there will ever be, Trust fund! Lady, money can't buy back the love he had and trusted with you...SHAME on you , hoepfully there will never be another trust fund. and He still says he loves you, that is the LOVE of a grandparent, I am a grandparent now and I would give anything to have mine back to enjoy my babies with me. May God touch that grandpa and bless him with the love of a granddaughter he needs and deserves.
