FAA Says Pilot Killed in Small Plane Crash

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Authorities say the pilot of a small
plane that crashed in northeastern Jefferson County is dead.
Kathleen Bergen of the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed
the death to WAVE-TV in Louisville. Bergen did not identify the
pilot. No one else was on board the plane.
Officials said the pilot sent a distress call around 4 a.m.
Searchers located the downed plane just after 6 a.m. near the
border of Tom Sawyer State Park and Indian Springs Golf Club, about
six miles northeast of Bowman Field.
Officials say the flight originated in Ohio.
