Police: Hot Candle Wax Poured On Toddler

The allegations are shocking; a southern Kentucky woman is facing charges after police say she abused a 3-year-old.

Angelina Kinnett is charged with first degree criminal abuse..

Police say Kinnett's boyfriend came to them indicating she was abusing his little boy.

An investigation revealed the 3-year-old was placed in a bathtub and had hot candle wax poured onto his legs.

He's receiving treatment for those injuries at Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville.

Kinnett's being lodged in the Adair County Jail. The case remains under investigation.

They both look like real educated individuals. They're nothing but trash. I hope the child is placed either with his real mother or a great adoptive family. I think that the father's rights should be terminated. I hate seeing stories such as these!! How oculd anyone torture a child like that?

The law won't change. I used to live in Indiana and the laws there were a lot tougher. They need to teach more sex ed in school and demand parenting classes for ANYONE that is around a child. SAD SAD

Just wonder if the father had let this go on. Maybe he just got mad and reported it. He had to know something was going on.

i think she is the little boy's STEPMOM. i hope the little boy is doing ok. i pray for him..what is it going to take to lawmakers to get involved or does anyone care?

I agree with Mom/KY, our lawmakers need to get more involved and take notice to child abuse cases. Any parent that abuses a child should have their parental rights terminated immediately; they should have to serve a mandatory sentence - 20 years in prison with the possibility of parole. The child should be adopted to a loving family who want and love children. The state has cut funds to employ enough Social Service workers to the point that a lot of children are getting neglected. They should cut any program before those programs needed to protect our children. More and more children are being abused daily and it seems that those in Frankfort are just turning their backs to the problem.
