Charitable Donations To Be Given Back

Hundreds of Kentuckians who gave to a charity will be getting refunds.

Attorney General Jack Conway says checks totaling ten thousand dollars will go to 558 people who gave to the American Veterans Coalition.

The money comes from a settlement with the Washington-based charity that claimed to raise money for veterans expenses but only gave out less than one percent.

As a retired member of the USAF, 100% DAV, this is totally disgusting. Persons involved with these so called charities should be prosecuted.

This isn't the only charity based organization claiming to help Veterans. We have so many Veterans that need our help, and organizations like this only hurt the cause. If you want to donate to a Veterans Organzation, I can recommend contacting your local VFW, American Legion or the Disabled American Veterans. They will ensure your donations get to local veterans in need. You can also contact the VA volunteer organization at the Cooper Dr VA Hospital. They also need volunteers as well as monitary donations.
