Man Found Dead Inside Winchester Apartment

A family member discovers the body of 53 year-old Ronald Sellars inside a Winchester apartment Monday afternoon.

Investigators have been on the scene at the Orchard Hill Apartment complex on Oxford Drive for much of the day. We're told a fire started inside Sellars apartment two days ago, but fire fighters were never called because the fire put its self out due to not enough oxygen in the home.

Winchester fire officials tell us the fire has been ruled an accident.

Sellars was found in the back room where police say he was asleep on a couch when the fire started.

Both investigators and neighbors say no other apartments were affected by the fire.

Investigators say there was a smoke detector inside the apartment, but they are unsure if it was working. The neighbors next door tell 27NEWSFIRST the smoke detector inside their apartment is not in working condition.
