Overnight Break In on HCTC Campus

A pick up truck, scrap metal, and propane tanks are on the list of stolen items from a local college.

Police say someone broke into a welding room on the technical campus of the Hazard Community and Technical College early Friday morning.
The truck was later found in Perry County, but police say the damage to the building is worth more than the items stolen.

"The items that were taken were useless to most people. While they passed by items that cost several thousands of dollars. Fortunately they did not take those items," says Captain James East with the Hazard Police Department.

Captain East believes the break in is drug related.
