Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Police have confirmed they arrested the man they believe robbed a Letcher County bank at gunpoint.

Just after eight Wednesday morning, police say a man wearing a mask walked into the community trust bank in Jeremiah, and demanded money.

The incident left those in the community on edge.

“This is our hometown bank, so it concerns us. That's where I do my banking at and we know these ladies on a first name basis. So you get concerned if somebody's down here sticking a gun into their face,” Ocsar McCown said.

Police have not released the suspects name or any other information concerning the robbery.

I think it is a shame what has happened. I would never thought this boy would do such a thing, but he did and now he will have to do his time. I am glad no one was hurt and I am sad and will be praying for his already struggling family. also for everyones information this boys uncle can't get him out of this one and he did not get his own son out of his troubles, that boy is in jail right now and will have to pay alot of restitution. I think we should get our facts straight before we go spouting off.

for all the people that are trying to say it is not about drugs then why is he charged with trafficking. seems to me that maybe looking from the outside in is what all of the people need to be doing because things are not always what they seem. i do feel very sorry for his little girl and his wife because they are truly the two of the four victims in this mess.

He must be an extremely disturbed person to do what he did and think he could get away with it. Did he not think they wouldn't have video of the crime? I think he is one sick person and he needs to pay for the crime. The one I feel bad for is his little girl. She is the one who is going to be asking where her daddy is. I hope he thinks about that and it eats him up inside everyday of his life. He deserves everything he is going to get.

Maybe if everyone would stop defending the people that do these things, they would take responsibility for themselves and their actions and stop doing them. There are no excuses for what happened. Maybe he's not a terrible person, maybe he's not on drugs, but he was wrong in what he did. He should be told that he was wrong and he should be punished. Not felt sorry for and told that people make mistakes and it's okay. People need to be held responsible and take responsibility for their actions.

I also know the man who robbed the bank and anybody who knows him knows what he and his family went through this past summer with their young daughter being deathly ill and in a comma for some time in UK hospital. What he did was not right but tonight when I lay down I will say a prayer for him, his family and the workers of the bank who had to go through that. As for the ones saying he is a low life I think you have him confused with his brother because the robber has not been in trouble before.
