Doodles is a new restaurant located on 3rd St and Limestone in Lexington.

Not only are the owners incorporating eco-friendly products, but they are also serving Kentucky Proud produce with a southern flare.

Owners Susan Harkins and Lynda Mellin have invested in using eco-friendly utensils and "paper" products. The plates and to-go boxes are made from corn and will break down with other food waste products in the trash.

Lillie Ruschell-Hoskins, Manager of Doodles, says, " The concept is comfort food with a conscience. Food you're going to enjoy eating and that you're going to feel good eating."

Doodles uses all Kentucky Proud foods including eggs and locally-made jams and honey. The menu also includes some New Orleans staples such as beignets and french-pressed coffee.

The restaurant is open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and is located directly across from Atomic Cafe.
