Trial Date Is Set For Former Special Deputy

A trial date is set for a former Harlan County special deputy charged with wanton murder.

Scott Moore's trial is set for May 11th in Rockcastle County.

In October, Moore pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter but maintained his innocence through an Alford plea.

A judge rejected that plea last month.

Police say Moore shot 22-year-old Leslie Cox in the head during a struggle at a lake in July 2007.
