Black Ice Causes Problems On Roads

Slick conditions became a problem on roads across the state early Tuesday morning.

Lexington Police say the driver of a SUV hit an icy patch, losing control and running right into a building on East 7th Street.

The SUV hit a warehouse belonging to Merit Furniture.

There was little damage to the building.

No one was hurt.

In Perry County, police say the black ice made it difficult for even their own cruisers to stay on the road.

Transportation officials say they treated the slick spots as they got ready for the possibilty of more snow Tuesday.

during the ice storm we were out of electric for 6 day's, we were luckly to have propane for our cooking source(which i HIGHLY recemend). I feel for the one's that are still out of electricity. We were out of electric for 12 day's the last ice storm a few year's ago. I live on a partiall blacktopped road, when it snow's or the ice storm we don't go,because the plow won't plow us out. I suggested that they bring gravel out so we can get out, that didn't happen. the snow came on top of that, still didn't get plowed out!! It took the STATE POLICE to come out to look after a car which was in the road way. I was told it wasn't a hassard, he came down our road to turn around and slid, THAT"S what finnally got us out for a week & half. what does it take to do? Complain to judge it doesn't matter, I was told he'll call road dept. Still haven't got gravel on road for tration, but got plowed out.
