additional dollars targeting infrastructure projects to the
economic stimulus package. Money for highway projects alone could
get an almost 50 percent boost, to $40 billion.
It comes even as others in the president's party hope to rein-in
the plan's almost $1 trillion cost to taxpayers.
The additional funding comes as Republicans as well as some
Democrats say the pricetag is too high.
GOP lawmakers will push alternative proposals aimed at helping
struggling homeowners first and foremost. Their hope is to reduce

If any roadway in the state of Kentucky needs fixed it is highway 229 from London to Barbourville that is a wagon trail in the mountains it has curves and hills and very narrow eighteen wheelers travel it three in a row, people in the early morning hours it looks like a railway cars tail gateing at speeds up to 70 mph it is like a mountain rollercoaster so many deaths have occoured on that strech of highway its a bloody road to travel markers ever so ofter on the road side where people have died I cant understand why the state of Kentucky ignores it 229 has just about as much traffic as 25 east it should have been a four lane 15 years ago.

The GOP lawmakers needs to realize people keep getting theirselves in debt. Not providing new infrastructure projects with money hurts the economy more. No jobs means no mortgage payment regardless of the tax credit or reduced mortgage payment. I do feel for the homeowners losing their homes but without work how can they survive.

Maybe Obama will provide funds so that we can finally get a 4 lane road into all of Eastern KY, of course Mitch and Bunning would stand up and swear it was their idea.
