The trial for a man accused in connection with the death of a UK freshman continues.

Police say Shannon Houser's truck hit Connie Blount as she crossed the street near campus last April.

Medical and forensic experts for the prosecution took the stand Thursday morning.

One scientist testified that fibers from Blount's sweater were found embedded in the grill of Houser's truck.

On Wednesday, a friend who was walking with Blount on the night she died took the stand.

Houser's attorneys haven't denied he was driving that night, but call the incident a terrible accident.

Houser is facing six years in prison for leaving the scene of an accident, tampering with physical evidence and drug possession.

The case is expected to go to the jury Thursday afternoon.
