Teacher Will Not Be Charged in Flag Burning Incident

A Louisville middle school teacher won't face charges for burning a pair of American flags in class, but he could be disciplined by the school board.
Dan Holden teaches seventh-grade social studies at Stuart Middle
School. He burned the flags last month during a lesson on freedom
of speech. He asked his students to write an opinion paper about
how they felt about it.
Holden was temporarily reassigned to a non-teaching role while
the school district and police investigated the incident.
Commonwealth's Attorney spokesman Steve Tedder says no criminal charges will be filed against Holden.
And Jefferson County Attorney's Office spokesman Bill Patteson
says the evidence doesn't warrant filing a charge of criminal wanton endangerment charge.
School spokeswoman Lauren Roberts, however, says the district is
still reviewing whether Holden endangered students or acted inappropriately.
