Couple Arrested For Torching An Air Machine

A Laurel County couple is arrested for trying to torch an air machine just to steal some coins.

Police say they noticed sparks coming from under the machine at a Redi Mart.

Moments later they pulled over William Brown and he was charged with DUI.

Brown and Deanna Lewis were also charged with theft, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Police say a four month old baby was sleeping in the back seat next to two large tanks.

"One tank, if I'm not mistaken has acetylene in it, the other tank oxygen in it. When mixed together they form a flame," Sergeant Brad Mitchell said.

Police say the pair didn't get any money from the Redi Mart air machine, but they were found with coins from a Pepsi machine at a nearby car wash.
